The 10th City Hall, led by Mayor Rocío Adame Muñoz of Playas de Rosarito, together with the Commission of Youth and Sports and the Municipal Institute of Youth (IMJUVER), invites young Rosarito natives (17-27 years old) to take part in the 3rd Youth City Hall of Playas de Rosarito, an initiative that aims to promote young people’s participation to make decisions in the municipality.
At this press conference, which took place at the UABC Rosarito Campus, Councilor Yoselin Peña Melendrez, President of the Commission of Youth and Sports, encouraged young people to participate in this honorary participation organization where they’ll be able to express their opinions, make proposals, and influence the municipality’s public policies.
“In addition to young people’s education, during the 12 months of this Youth City Hall, several activities where people can gather in sessions and vote on proposals they make themselves will be taking place,” the mayor said.
The Director of IMJUVER, Josué Armando Zamora Ponce, added that leadership, coexistence, and idea exchanges are strengthened between all young people thanks to these citizen participation exercises.
The municipal official reiterated that all people interested have until February 21 to submit their written proposal to raise an issue and follow it up with a solution and how to implement it.
Other issues that can be addressed are comprehensive well-being and development, education and culture, science and technology, tourism, economic development and jobs, priority groups, animal welfare, among others.
