The 25th City Hall of Tijuana, led by Mayor Ismael Burgueño Ruiz, held the first work meeting with health industry representatives that aims to strengthen the transparency and guarantee the adequate application of the "Fast Lane" program. Strategies to ensure that passes are directly assigned to those who need them and meet all requirements were discussed at this meeting organized by the Secretariat of Economic Development of Tijuana (SEDETI).

Pedro Montejo Peterson, Secretary of Economic Development of Tijuana, presided over the meeting alongside Viridiana Flores Flores, head of the Municipal Directorate of Prevention, Control, and Health. During the session, Montejo emphasized the administration’s commitment to transparency and noted that the pass registration roll had been carefully reviewed to remove ineligible individuals.

"Mayor Ismael Burgueño has tasked us with eliminating corruption and impunity. We are committed to working correctly and efficiently. Some companies have already removed inactive names from the system. In some cases, those removed may only have been missing certain requirements," he stated.

Montejo further explained that the goal of the meeting was to establish agreements ensuring that all eligible individuals gain access to the program. He highlighted that certificates and licenses will undergo constant review to guarantee that passes are issued directly to patients. He also touched on business passes, student passes (for individuals studying in the U.S.), and upcoming passes for other economic sectors in the city.

At the meeting, Viridiana Flores Flores reiterated her commitment to strengthening alliances with the health industry. She emphasized that Mayor Burgueño’s administration is open to dialogue and prioritizes health-related issues.

"You can count on the City Hall’s support. Mayor Burgueño has prioritized health, and we will continue to promote medical tourism, an area in which Tijuana is a national leader," she stated.

The meeting, which also addressed representatives’ questions and concerns, was attended by Óscar Higuera Betancourt, Director of Economic Promotion of Tijuana’s 25th City Hall, and Cristóbal Ascolani Castañeda, Director of Strategic Planning of Tijuana’s 25th City Hall.
