TIJUANA. - The Secretary of Tourism (SECTURE in Spanish) is inviting you to participate in the 13th Wellness Walk to celebrate FIT 50+'s 1st anniversary, which forms part of the Asociación Amar, with the goal of encouraging outdoor tourism activities with the family.
SECTURE's head of marketing, Edrick Reyes Meléndez, stated that the walk will take place this coming Sunday, October 25th at 7:30 am, starting at L.A. Cetto's vineyard located in Valle de Guadalupe.
He also noted that FIT 50+'s project is to promote sport, cultural, recreational and relaxation activities in adults that are 50 years or older and that by doing so they'll be more independent and will better their quality of life.
"This will be the first time that a tourist walk will take place in this area, in which participants will have the opportunity to walk along the paths of one of the most important vineyards in the country, it'll be a family activity that'll promote coexistence and a healthy lifestyle while enjoying one of the most beautiful and iconic landscapes of Baja California. We've been noticing more and more interest from the community to participate in events like this, and not just from the locals but from the other side of the border as well, who take advantage of these opportunities in order to know more about the natural beauties of our state", said Reyes Meléndez.
He also noted that it'll be a 14 km walk with a low to medium level of difficulty, registration will open at 6:45 am and training at 7:45 am, the walk will start at 8 o'clock. It has an estimated time of 2 hours and 45 minutes and the participants will be received with a rural outdoor celebration at 11 am, complete with a traditional anniversary toast and a raffle for the participants.
