Federal authorities in the United States say that next monday they will put the "last nail on a coffin", and bury forever the last "capo" of the Arellano Felix cartel: Eduardo Ramon Arellano Felix, who will be sentenced in courtroom 14 A of the Southern California District Attorney.

Known in the drug-dealing world as "The Doctor", the "AK 13" and "The teacher", Eduardo will be the last of the Arellano Felix brothers to receive a sentence as

part of a multinational crime organization that was the leader in smuggling drugs into the United States in the last 20 years.

The capo was detained in the city of Tijuana in 2008 and then extradited to the United States for crimes of criminal association and drug dealing. This year he turned 56 years old and has been in seclusion in a Federal Prison.

On Friday May 24th he pleaded guilty in front of Judge Larry Alan Burns, in a bright orange jumpsuit he walked into the courtroom slowly; "The Doctor" had lost at least 22 pounds during his time in prison.

Here he accepted his participation in the criminal organization that were led by his brothers Ramon and Benjamin, he admitted he was part of the decision making and in the laundering of the money obtained from drug dealing.

During the hearing the federal authorities revealed that they would come to a deal with the drug dealer in exchange for a forfeiture of $50,000,000 dollars in assets, and that he renounced his right for an appeal. The drug dealer managed to get a deal that was in his favor and it is expected that he will be sentenced to only 15 years in prison.

The sentence will be made this Monday at 9:30 a.m. in courtroom 14 A of the San Diego Court, it is there where Eduardo Arellano Felix and his Lawyer, Brian P. Funk will hear the verdict.

Judge Larry Alan Burns, sentenced both his brothers accused of drug dealing: Benjamin Arellano was sentenced to 25 years in prison, while is other brother Fracisco Javier "El Tigrillo" was sentenced to life in prison.

The indictment

According to the case file 3:97-cr-02520-LAB of the Southern California District Attorney vs Eduardo Arellano, of which SanDiegoRed obtained a copy, the criminal history of the drug cartel started to get documented since 1986.

In the file is detailed how the members of the Arellano Felix cartel smuggled drugs such as marijuana and cocaine from Tijuana into the United States, it is also detailed how they were involved in money laundering as well as torture and execution of their enemies and bribing military personnel.

The indictment also details that Eduardo Ramon Arellano Felix was consulted by his brothers in the "company's big decisions", which included organization as well as drug shipping to the United States.

It is also mentioned that in 1991 Eduardo Arellano traveled with his brother Ramon Arellano to meet Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman, one of the most wanted drug dealers in the world. The meeting was to ease tension between the two Cartels.

The fate of Eduardo Arellano and one of the most violent drug dealing organizations in history will be decided this Monday by the United States government in San Diego, California.
