Meteor shower will be visible from Tijuana tonight! This will be the best time to see it

This impressive meteor shower occurs due to remains left by the famous Halley's Comet

Prepare yourself to look at the sky in the early morning of Monday because the meteor shower Eta Aquariids will reach its maximum point at this time.

It should be noted that this phenomenon has been active since April 19 and will remain visible until May 28. However, the best to see it will be in the early morning of Monday, May 6, as a maximum of 60 meteors per hour are expected.

Though weather conditions in Tijuana are forecasted to be cloudy, experts at Windowpane Observatory say that it is possible to enjoy this show regardless.

The meteor shower can be seen in areas with no light pollution and it will be visible in all of the state's municipalities, according to experts at EarthSky.

What is the best time to watch the Eta Aquariids from Tijuana?

Regarding the city of Tijuana, the best time to watch the meteor shower will be between 2:05 AM (PT) and 5:35 AM on Monday, May 6, in which, according to Timeanddate, there will be a great view.

What are Eta Aquariids and why are they special?

The Eta Aquariids meteor shower is caused by Halley's Comet, one of the world's most famous comets. Halley's Comet orbits around the Sun every 76 years, and every time it does so, it releases a cloud of dust and gas, which hits the Earth's atmosphere and disintegrates.

Eta Aquariids are known for their speed and shininess, traveling at around 66 km per second.

How to watch the meteor shower?

The meteor shower can be seen if you watch the radiant, the point where it seems to originate from and which can be located on the SkyView or StarWalk apps.

The best-case scenario is to be in a place away from the city lights and watch the sky for 15 to 20 minutes so that your eyes can get used to the dark, while avoiding light from your cellphone's screen.
