The governor of Baja California, Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda, led the start of the “Welcome to Baja California” campaign in Los Angeles, California, an initiative whose goal is to promote the main tourist destinations of Baja California to millions of people.
Marina del Pilar stated that the transportation bus system of LA will show the campaign’s image regarding Baja Californian tourist promotion, which has managed to recover its visitors after two complicated years due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“To see these public transportation buses painted with Baja California in California shows us that we are brother states, we share a culture, we share our roots, we share the love for our families, which is why we launch this historic campaign,” the governor stated in her message in front of authorities of the state of California and representatives of the government of Mexico.
At this event, the Consul General of Mexico in Los Angeles, Marcela Solorio Mancera was present and she highlighted the tourism promotion work carried out by Marina del Pilar in Baja California, which has brought important results.
Meanwhile, the Secretary of Tourism of Baja California, Miguel Aguiñiga Rodríguez, stated that, additionally, the wagons of the San Diego Trolley have been dressed up in the tourist images of Baja California, which makes the integration between both countries much easier.
This is a strategic area since the trolley line is one of the most used public transportations of the region, which is why it is estimated that its impact will reach 1,380 billion people, since this circuit covers around 3,240 square miles between the urban and rural areas of the entire San Diego County, providing services to around 3 million people.
